4 month checkup...

Lexie had her four month checkup this week and is doing great! Her normal pediatrician was booked 3 months in advance so we had to settle for one of his partners. She was really nice, but unfortunately she had a really loud, nervous laugh which made me not want to ask any questions because I wanted to get out of there as quick as possible! Anyway here are her stats:

Weight 13.7 lbs - 50th percentile

Height 24 1/2 inches - 75th percentile

So far she's a pretty amazing baby, which is good because that means we might actually have a 3rd child someday! We usually put her to bed at 8:00 and then she'll wake up once between 4:00 and 5:00 and then go back to bed until 7:30. She used to sleep through the night, but that's because she wasn't going to bed until 10:30. I decided I'd rather have her wake up once during the night and go to bed earlier so I could have some down time in the evening. Kaitlyn is starting to enjoy playing with Alexis a lot more now, because Lexie will crack up laughing at anything she does. We'll be driving in the car and all of a sudden Lexie is laughing hysterically at a funny face Katy made. It's fabulous! Anyway, here are some pics of my sweetie (check out the cheeks)!

The new house...

Yay, we finally got a house in Baton Rouge! The whole experience has been so frustrating, because we went into this house hunting thing thinking we were going to get an amazing deal on an awesome house since we're in a recession and all. NOPE! The housing market seems to be booming in Baton Rouge. The first house we found we were out bid on. Too bad because I really liked that one. So we decided to go back for a second trip and look at some houses that had recently been listed. On the Wednesday before our trip we sent our realator a list of properties we wanted to see and by Friday 3 of the 7 were under contract! These houses had only been on the market for a few weeks tops. Anyway, we finally found a brand new house in a great location that we love. We weren't going to let this one get away from us so we put in a serious offer, negotiated a little and we got it! They still have to put in the landscaping, appliances and the fence, but other than that it's pretty much finished. I can't wait to live in a house with a yard and not have to share walls with anybody! Oh yeah, and it's only a few miles from the temple and THE mall!

Zoo day...

I haven't posted any pics of the kids for a few weeks so here they are. We went to the zoo last week and had so much fun. I love having a zoo membership, because you can go to the zoo for an hour or two and then leave. You don't have to stay all day and see every single animal to feel like you got your money's worth. Anyway the kids had so much fun and finally got to ride the new train . The cool thing about this train is it takes you all the way around Hermann Park for a 20 minute ride and the scenery is actually really pretty. The best $2.75 I've spent in a long time.

I hate The Picture People...

A couple of weeks ago we decided to get Katy and Lexie's pictures taken. I bought them special matching outfits and made an appointment for the next morning with The Picture People during the kid's "happy time". We spent all morning getting the girls ready for our appointment and drove all the way to the Galleria only to find that the store wasn't even open! It was 10:30 in the morning and apparently the manager just didn't show up to open the store that day. The mall opened at 9am and their store was still closed! I was so mad because I spent all morning getting the girls ready and they wasted half my day. We ended up driving all the way to the Picture People at the memorial city mall, but by then my kids were grumpy, their hair was ruined, dresses were wrinkled and they did a crappy job!

No more Picture People for me!

It Finally Happened...

Jared is always complaining about how his body is falling apart from playing sports too much. Well, it finally happened! On Thursday night he was playing basketball and completely severed his achilles tendon. Yeah, not good. Luckily our friend was there to take him to the emergency room so I could stay home with the kids. Thanks Derek! Right now he has a cast on his foot and has to use crutches. He saw the orthopedic surgeon yesterday and is scheduled to have surgery on Tuesday where they'll re-attach the tendon. After the surgery he'll have a cast for 6 weeks with crutches and then a walking boot for another 6 weeks after that! He's getting out of a lot of baby duty and is definitely going to "owe me one" when this is over! Since the accident I've informed him that the only sports he's allowed to play are ping pong and fishing. Those are sports right?

2 Month Checkup...

I can't believe Lexie is already nine weeks old! We went to her two month checkup on Monday and she weighed 11 lbs 1 ounce (60th percentile) and was 23 inches long (75th percentile). She is the sweetest little girl and is smiling so much, especially in the morning. She's cooing and talking a lot, but mostly to her Papa. It's amazing how well she sleeps too. The other night we put her to bed at 10:30 pm and she didn't wake up until 8:30 am! Most of the time she'll go to bed around 10:30 and wake up around 5:00am and then go back to bed until 8:00am. I'm so thankful she sleeps so well at night because I rarely get a nap with Kaitlyn around!

Baby Blessing...

So we blessed our sweet Lexie last Sunday.  She looked beautiful in her dress, but we didn't get many pictures because we waited until after chuch and by then both our kids were a  bit grumpy. We tried to take a family picture but Katy refused to smile, so Jared and I made grumpy faces too.
