It Finally Happened...
Jared is always complaining about how his body is falling apart from playing sports too much. Well, it finally happened! On Thursday night he was playing basketball and completely severed his achilles tendon. Yeah, not good. Luckily our friend was there to take him to the emergency room so I could stay home with the kids. Thanks Derek! Right now he has a cast on his foot and has to use crutches. He saw the orthopedic surgeon yesterday and is scheduled to have surgery on Tuesday where they'll re-attach the tendon. After the surgery he'll have a cast for 6 weeks with crutches and then a walking boot for another 6 weeks after that! He's getting out of a lot of baby duty and is definitely going to "owe me one" when this is over! Since the accident I've informed him that the only sports he's allowed to play are ping pong and fishing. Those are sports right?

um ouch!!! that basketball stuff is harsh! (nathan tore his ACL last year)
I am totally jealous that Lexie is sleeping that long. Lincoln is 3 pounds heavier and only is sleeping like a 6 hour stretch!!
Haha! I don't mean to laugh, but is seems like church basketball=injuries! Lane sprained his ankle playing a while back & hasn't played since!
Ya, blame it on "too many sports" or old age ;) either way...ouch! Sorry Big J! At least you're so darn tough the inconvenience of the crutches will probably tick you off worse than the surgery!
bummer jared. Hope you heal fast! Hang in there Amanda:)
I hope the surgery went well. (From Derek) I'm glad that I got to see Jared play well the week before. Hopefully he will heal quickly.
