Teaching Kids is Always Fun

So, Jared was teaching Kaitlyn the name of our church the other day and I thought I'd share their dialogue.

Jared:  "Katy, can you say, 'The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?'"
Katy: "Amen"

I guess I can see how she would think he was ending a prayer. :)

Here's a pic of Katy wearing Jared's graduation cap also!

Sold!

Yay, our condo sold yesterday! It was only on the market for a little over a month. I honestly didn't think it would sell, because the area we live in is full of medical students and typically they don't look for housing until mid to late summer. We don't close until May 27th, but the papers are signed and ready to go. As of right now we'll be moving on May 15th and should be in the new house on the 18th! I'm so excited to finally have a yard and a garage!

4 month checkup...

Lexie had her four month checkup this week and is doing great! Her normal pediatrician was booked 3 months in advance so we had to settle for one of his partners. She was really nice, but unfortunately she had a really loud, nervous laugh which made me not want to ask any questions because I wanted to get out of there as quick as possible! Anyway here are her stats:

Weight 13.7 lbs - 50th percentile

Height 24 1/2 inches - 75th percentile

So far she's a pretty amazing baby, which is good because that means we might actually have a 3rd child someday! We usually put her to bed at 8:00 and then she'll wake up once between 4:00 and 5:00 and then go back to bed until 7:30. She used to sleep through the night, but that's because she wasn't going to bed until 10:30. I decided I'd rather have her wake up once during the night and go to bed earlier so I could have some down time in the evening. Kaitlyn is starting to enjoy playing with Alexis a lot more now, because Lexie will crack up laughing at anything she does. We'll be driving in the car and all of a sudden Lexie is laughing hysterically at a funny face Katy made. It's fabulous! Anyway, here are some pics of my sweetie (check out the cheeks)!

The new house...

Yay, we finally got a house in Baton Rouge! The whole experience has been so frustrating, because we went into this house hunting thing thinking we were going to get an amazing deal on an awesome house since we're in a recession and all. NOPE! The housing market seems to be booming in Baton Rouge. The first house we found we were out bid on. Too bad because I really liked that one. So we decided to go back for a second trip and look at some houses that had recently been listed. On the Wednesday before our trip we sent our realator a list of properties we wanted to see and by Friday 3 of the 7 were under contract! These houses had only been on the market for a few weeks tops. Anyway, we finally found a brand new house in a great location that we love. We weren't going to let this one get away from us so we put in a serious offer, negotiated a little and we got it! They still have to put in the landscaping, appliances and the fence, but other than that it's pretty much finished. I can't wait to live in a house with a yard and not have to share walls with anybody! Oh yeah, and it's only a few miles from the temple and THE mall!

Zoo day...

I haven't posted any pics of the kids for a few weeks so here they are. We went to the zoo last week and had so much fun. I love having a zoo membership, because you can go to the zoo for an hour or two and then leave. You don't have to stay all day and see every single animal to feel like you got your money's worth. Anyway the kids had so much fun and finally got to ride the new train . The cool thing about this train is it takes you all the way around Hermann Park for a 20 minute ride and the scenery is actually really pretty. The best $2.75 I've spent in a long time.
